More about me/us:

Married. No children. I have a background in broadcasting and other media. I own a worthless degree and have worked as a journalist, news director, disc jockey, photographer, technician, small business owner/manager, professional soapmaker and more. 

Strong interest horticulture, sustainability, community, decent housing folks can build on a shoestring, hiking, mind-blowing reads.

We’ve had adventures in morbid obesity. Permanently changed our lifestyles in the interest of health 9 years ago. Lost 115 lbs. Wife lost 55. Got fit.

I’ve been variously ill for the last decade, with some remissions. Best guess is Chronic Lyme Disease/Post-Lyme Syndrome. Call it what you will. Most doctors don’t believe it exists. Troubles have ranged from the rheumatic to the neurological. Been everywhere. Nobody really knows what to do about this stuff.  I do all I can for myself.

Our ambition is to pare back the non-essential elements of our life. Simplify. Do the things that are important to us while we can still do them. And in the short term, sell nearly all we own and move to a warmer climate. The winters here are no good for me. Sunlight has been provably therapeutic. So here we go…
